Representatives of the “Forgotten Children of War Association” met with Minister Senad Čeljo at the
Ministry of Social Policy, Health, Displaced Persons, and Refugees to discuss the harmonization of
cantonal regulations with federal law – a key step in strengthening the rights and protection of
children born as a result of war crimes.
The association’s representatives stressed the importance of aligning legal frameworks across all
levels of government to ensure equal rights for all citizens, regardless of the canton they live in.
They also emphasized the need for specific support and protection measures for children born during
the war, who continue to experience the lasting effects of past traumas.
The Ministry of Social Policy expressed its commitment to collaborating and providing support in this
process.
