As part of the “Dealing with the Past” program, the Sarajevo Film Festival in partnership with the Regional Youth Cooperation Office – RYCO, the ZFD Bosnia and Herzegovina forum and the FES office in Bosnia and Herzegovina organized an interactive program in 2021 for 25 young people from the countries of the Western Balkans, in addition to the movies they will watch. The Association “Forgotten children of war” had the opportunity to hold a workshop as part of the aforementioned program.

We are pleased to have shared national, regional and international experiences with great young people. It is especially important for us that we talked about the heroism of our mothers, but also about children born as a result of war-time rape. Together with the participants, it was pointed out that young people today have to face themselves and their surroundings, while at the same time respecting the factual past. Respecting lost lives, people’s pain,  memories, but also living people like us, children born of war. Young people need space to create their own experiences and steps to build a better future for all of us and those after us.
