On May 6, 2026, the Association Forgotten Children of War organized a demonstration class at the Secondary Dental Technical School, aiming to educate young people about the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, conflict-related sexual violence, and its long-term consequences.
History teacher Šejla Vojniković gathered more than 90 students who attended a lecture on the topic “Bosnia and Herzegovina during the 1992–1995 War and Violence in Wartime”, providing students with a deeper understanding of the historical context and the consequences of war.
In the second part of the program, Alen Muhić delivered a lecture on conflict-related sexual violence. Through sharing his personal life story, he spoke with students about children born as a result of wartime sexual violence, the importance of raising awareness about this issue, and the need to build a society based on empathy, understanding, and responsibility.
The demonstration class was organized as part of the project “Building Long-Term Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina: Investing in the Future”, implemented by BIRN BiH, the Srebrenica Memorial Center, and the Association Forgotten Children of War, with the support of the United Nations Secretary-General’s Peacebuilding Fund (UN PBF).
