A representative of the Association “Forgotten Children of War” participated on March 11, 2026, in a consultative meeting titled “The Dayton Peace Agreement and Gender Equality”, held in Sarajevo and organized by the British Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the company Raion.
The consultative meeting brought together representatives of civil society organizations, relevant public institutions, and international organizations with the aim of exchanging experiences, expert perspectives, and recommendations for advancing gender equality in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The event represents a continuation of activities initiated following the presentation of the analysis “The Dayton Peace Agreement and Gender Equality” in December 2025, with a focus on developing recommendations for future reform processes and public policies.
The consultations focused particularly on identifying concrete proposals and recommendations for improving institutional protection mechanisms, developing advocacy initiatives, and creating sustainable programs that contribute to strengthening gender equality. Discussions addressed challenges in the implementation of existing policies, institutional responsibilities, and the importance of involving civil society organizations in monitoring, advocacy, and public policy development processes.
The discussion was conducted through an interactive “World Café” format, enabling participants to exchange practical experiences through small-group discussions, identify key challenges, and propose concrete measures for improving existing systems for the protection and promotion of gender equality in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The participation of the Association “Forgotten Children of War” in this event represented an important opportunity to contribute to broader discussions on human rights, gender equality, and the position of vulnerable groups in Bosnia and Herzegovina, while simultaneously strengthening cooperation with domestic and international partners working in the fields of human rights protection and social inclusion.
