We are happy to announce that the “Krunoslav Sukić” Award Committee for the Promotion of Peacemaking, Nonviolence and Human Rights has decided to present a special peace award to Ajna Jusić, president of the Forgotten Children of War Association.

“Krunoslav Sukić” award 2020 – for the message that you express and realize with your life, actions and words – that solidarity, empathy, humanity and courage for action and for dialogue are effective, healing and creative – that they make a difference today is the foundation for the future .

The Award Committee states that Ajna Jusić is a model for young people because she represents the power of a non-violent type of leadership.

Currently, with her work, Ajna is trying to make Bosnia and Herzegovina the first country in the world to have a law on children who were born as a result of war rape and children whose fathers are members of foreign peace and humanitarian organizations. Thanks to her efforts during 2020, Jusić was nominated by the School of Political Studies of the Council of Europe in BiH for the “Václav Havel for Human Rights” award, which was established in 2013 by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the Václav Havel Library and the Charta 77 Foundation, and is awarded in memory of Václav Havel.
