Ajna Jusić, founder of the “Forgotten Children of War” Association, participated in the International
Conference “Empowerment Through Memory,” organized by the Srebrenica Memorial Center.
Jusić was a speaker at the panel titled “Intergenerational Responsibility,” and, according to the
Srebrenica Memorial Center, she has achieved a historic milestone.
“In 2023, her efforts led to the passage of the world’s first law granting special rights to children born
as a result of war rape. This law provides enhanced social protection and addresses years of stigma.
Despite facing significant challenges and societal backlash, Ajna courageously pursued justice. Driven
by the truth and her unwavering belief in the innocence of mothers, she continues to advocate for
the rights of these marginalized individuals,” stated the Srebrenica Memorial Center.
